How do I get to Wyoming?
A number of people from Colorado and the West Coast may be driving out to Wyoming. Let us know if you want to possibly share a ride to Wyoming.
You can fly directly into Jackson (JAC). It can be expensive, so cheaper options include Idaho Falls (IDA) or Salt Lake City (SLC). It may also be more affordable to rent a car in Idaho or Utah, but there are cars to rent in Jackson too. Salt Lake City is about a five hour drive south. Idaho Falls is about 1.5 hours.
How do I get around?
Unfortunately, Wyoming generally involves driving, and thus renting a car. We will try to arrange some shuttle options to the picnic dinner on Friday and the wedding site on Saturday.
Lena's sister Sophie (sophievogel@gmail.com) will coordinate carpools for those who desire. She may be able to wrangle up some locals' cars to borrow.
You can also rent bikes to go around the valley if you are into that kind of thing.
What exactly is the deal with Tent City?
We are having a wedding to bring our people together and celebrate. To have some extra time and space for that, we are setting up a camp in Lena's parents' pasture. During the week, we may go on hikes, jump in lakes, make art, go to the theater, or just sit around the campfire and count earwigs.
Tent City will be operating the week before the wedding, because there isn't space for everyone during the wedding weekend itself. We recommend that Tent City dwellers retreat to a rental house or hotel over the weekend, but there may be flexibility.
If you prefer to stay in a bed, which we assume is many of you, please come visit Tent City any time! The RSVP form above asks what days you are coming and if you want to come stay in a tent during your trip.
